Dnes  vyhlásili  americkí akademici nominácie na tohtoročného Oscara. Najúspešnejšou bola Jane Campion a je  zároveň prvou ženou nominovanou dvakrát na Oscara za najlepšiu réžiu. Jej film Sila psa (The Power of the Dog) získal nominácie v dvanástich kategóriách – réžia (Campion bola v tejto kategórii nominovaná už za Piano), najlepší film, adaptovaný scenár (v tejto kategórii už Campion získala Oscara za Piano), herec, herec vo vedľajšej úlohe (2x), herečka vo vedľajšej úlohe, zvuk, pôvodná hudba, strih, kamera a výprava.
